Things to do with kids in Silicon Valley

Whether you live in or near Silicon Valley, you’re probably always looking for fun activities to do with your kids. We’ve rounded up our favorite things to do with kids of all ages, and it’s here just in time for spring and summer. From water activities to museums, the tech region of California has tons for you and your little ones to experience together.

Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose
With plenty of activities and changing exhibits, the Children’s Discovery Museum is always an exciting experience. Children of all ages will find activities to enjoy, while adults participate and watch right alongside. On special days you can catch a ride on the Discovery Express, the museum’s trackless train.

Sky High Sports in Santa Clara
You’ve probably heard about this trampoline place with bouncy floors, trampoline dodgeball, and an area for “little jumpers.” It’s a great place to spend a few hours this summer or to throw a birthday party. They even offer discounted additional hours of jumping on Wednesdays.

Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo
Spend a morning with your little ones at this interactive museum and zoo. You’ll both enjoy learning about science and nature while watching raccoons, turtles, bobcats and more. Although the Junior Museum & Zoo is free, donations are welcomed.

The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose
Explore genetics, earth science, virtual design, alternative energy and more with hands-on activities at the Tech Museum. It offers hours of fun for kids of all ages as it inspired creativity. Keep your eyes open for Makerspace at Tech coming this summer!

Intel Museum in Santa Clara
If your kids know how to use your tablet better than you, they’ll love the Intel Museum. The Museum is made up of 10,000 square feet of interactive space. A trip to see the automated silicon chip factory might just inspire your child’s future career in technology. Make sure to call in advance to avoid the museum’s closure for special events.

NASA Ames Visitor Center in Mountain View
The NASA Ames Visitor Center is an exciting stop for the space-enthused kid. At no cost you can spend time learning about previous NASA projects and try out the shuttle cockpit simulator. Make sure to check out what days it’s open, and keep in mind an average visit lasts about an hour.

Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park
With summer on its way, you’re probably looking for ways to exhaust your kids. Gilroy Gardens has rides, a playground, a rock maze, and even water features for hot days; the best recipe for draining some energy. We suggest buying your tickets online to save a few bucks.
